What is a sticky site?
A sticky website is one that has the ability to keep your visitors intrigued and interested long enough to ‘stick around’ for a while and see what you have to offer, and keep them coming back for more.
Your website has an average of 10 to 20 seconds to impress your visitors. If it fails, they wander off - never to return again.
There are three aspects that contribute to site stickiness: design, content, and architecture.
Graphic design can pull your customers in or frighten them away. It provides an immediate impression of your philosophy and level of professionalism.
Compelling content is the meat of the site. It's important to know your audience and use the same tone and vocabulary as they do.
Intuitive architecture enables visitors to find what they are looking for. The most beautiful and compelling website is useless if your visitors get frustrated.
1. Estimate - First, you fill out a
Client Discovery Form that helps me to understand your products/services, expectations, resources, preferences and target market. I review the information, clarify any questions and send you a time and schedule estimate for review.
2. Discovery/Strategy - Upon approval of the estimate, I research your market and product/service while you complete the
Research Form and the
Visual Identity Form (unless you already have a logo). I combine the results into a strategic plan that outlines your expectations and goals for the website along with some basic design, content, architecture, and navigation recommendations.
3. Design (me) & Content (you) - While you review the strategy document and pull together content, I work on the graphic design and provide you with some options.
4. Production - Once you've chosen and approved one of the site designs, I take the images and convert them into a website, using the content that you provide. I then fully optimize the site and test it on all active browsers and computer platforms.
5. Implementation and Training - The site goes live and I walk you through any training required for maintaining your site. I submit your site to all major search engines (but I cannot guarantee rankings).
